Giovanni Balzarani NWS
He started his career as a fine art restorer, refining his precision and attention to detail while restoring historic buildings, monuments, and masterpieces. He used to paint realistic oil works and make rock music photography, but watercolor was his first technique since he was a child. Then he decided to be a full time watercolor painter, also teaching online and in schools.
He is known as a hyperrealistic Italian watercolor painter, focusing his masterpieces on contemporary still life and urban landscapes, challenging himself to bring and push the watercolor to photorealism, like the oil technique, exploring the light on reflections and transparency through the dark shadow.
He has participated in many international collective shows as NWS, AWS, NWWS, SWA, PCWS, Thessaloniki Biennale, WHW Moscow, Malaysia, Portugal, FabrianoinAcquarello, and national contests, collecting some significant awards.
Giovanni is honored by DANIEL SMITH with the Core Mixing Palette of 5 watercolor sticks, and he is one endorser of the weekly live sessions with John Cogley.
