Claude Carretta

A lover of drawing, I discovered watercolor in 1990 and I gradually developped a passion for the colors’game and the freedom with which the water disperses pigments and creates unexpected effects. 

I'm looking mostly for atmospheres, highlighted in the first stage of creation, then, I give rise to the light in its full force by opposition with contrasts. 

I strive to paint a range of topics to suit my interests: flowers, autumn leaves, rural and urban landscapes or marine themes.

I worked with the Belgian-Canadian master Roland Palmaerts, who appointed me Maître PALM'ARTS in May 2010. 

I  was also 6 years long  president  of  the association Aquarelle Reims Evénement that works to promote watercolor by regular international exhibitions in REIMS, chief town of CHAMPAGNE.

Selected since 2008 for various international  exhibitions of watercolor  in Europe (France, Belgium, Greece and Bulgaria)  I presented my works on several occasions  in Quebec and in the USA.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Matthew graduated with honors from the Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn, New York, in 2000. He is a Signature Member of numerous organizations, including the American Watercolor Society and National Watercolor Society, where he served as vice president. His award-winning watercolor paintings have been exhibited in juried shows across the United States, as well as in Canada, China, England, Greece, Hong Kong, and Italy. His work is in museum and private collections. Has been invited to Taiwan, France, Poland, USA, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Spain, Mexico, Greece, Russian Federation, Moscow, and China, nearly 70 international exhibitions, 76 solo exhibitions, and nearly 300 joint exhibitions at home and abroad.  2012 Indonesia International Watercolor Tour Invitational Exhibition (Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Sony Bali.) Herman Pekel

Born in Melbourne in 1956 of Dutch parents, Herman was 17 when he held his first solo exhibition in Melbourne: it was a sell-out success. He spent three years studying and painting in Amsterdam and London, where he encountered the works of Constable, Turner and Rembrandt. These impressed him and influenced his own work. On returning to Melbourne in 1982 he began studying for his fine arts degree at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Dale Hickey, Jeff Makin and Clifton Pugh are just a few of the contemporary artists under whom Herman studied and who were instrumental in cultivating his appreciation of contemporary art, as well as experimentation with abstract impressionism. His tonal works, in oil and watercolour, range from city and landscapes to café and bar interiors to dynamic industrial scenery. They all demonstrate the very best of contemporary impressionism.
