Laurie Goldstein Warren AWS, TWSA

Originally from New York, Laurie now lives in West Virginia. Laurie has always had a love for the arts. After moving from New York to West Virginia, she discovered a passion for watercolor.

Her work has been widely exhibited across the United States and has also exhibited in Japan, Turkey, Greece, Canada, England and China. Her work can be seen in Splash 13, 14, 18, 21 and 23. She has also been published several times in Watercolor Artist magazine as well as Art of Watercolour magazine. Laurie curated a book about Contemporary Women Watermedia Artists titled Her Voice. 

She is a Member of the Watercolor Honor Society and a signature member American Watercolor Society, and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. Her work earned her the High Winds Medal at the 150th Anniversary Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society. In 2022, she was honored to be included in the International Watercolour Masters Exhibition in England, where she demonstrated and taught.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Matthew graduated with honors from the Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn, New York, in 2000. He is a Signature Member of numerous organizations, including the American Watercolor Society and National Watercolor Society, where he served as vice president. His award-winning watercolor paintings have been exhibited in juried shows across the United States, as well as in Canada, China, England, Greece, Hong Kong, and Italy. His work is in museum and private collections. Herman Pekel

Born in Melbourne in 1956 of Dutch parents, Herman was 17 when he held his first solo exhibition in Melbourne: it was a sell-out success. He spent three years studying and painting in Amsterdam and London, where he encountered the works of Constable, Turner and Rembrandt. These impressed him and influenced his own work. On returning to Melbourne in 1982 he began studying for his fine arts degree at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Dale Hickey, Jeff Makin and Clifton Pugh are just a few of the contemporary artists under whom Herman studied and who were instrumental in cultivating his appreciation of contemporary art, as well as experimentation with abstract impressionism. His tonal works, in oil and watercolour, range from city and landscapes to café and bar interiors to dynamic industrial scenery. They all demonstrate the very best of contemporary impressionism.
